For the believers. ^^

When I wrote this piece, I had no idea it would connect with so many people. It simply came from my heart, and some of my deepest ideals. Some of my deepest beliefs are in the third stanza, esp. regarding how the family is of so little importance these days. The line "where God is explained" is not so much for me as for others. I believe in God strongly...but what of those who don't have that belief? What of those who don't have some hope in their lives? I tried to touch on every aspect of life in general, whether through imagery, or just plain speech. That's what this poem basically is. It has a structure and repetition, but it does not rhyme on purpose. This is a monologue expressing what I desire most in this world, and what others also wish for. This is the spoken word of the heart.
The speaker laments the corruption and greed of the world, but insists he/she will not give up. They will go on living, for themselves and their loved ones, "as long as I have breath in my body...as long as I have the strength to believe."
