The Thirteen Spices
I'm brewing up spices
I'm stirring up Change
My fingers are working
My eyes are a flame
"It's witchcraft," you challenge
You ignorant sweet
A witch does not smile
Nor does she complete
A vial of potions
So beautifully sound
I'm brewing up spices
So come gather 'round

First I'll add Laughter
A bubbling blur
Then essence of Wisdom
To make it more pure
The spices of Gossip
Are what I most dread
They curl and whisper  
About in my head
Quick! Throw in Kindness
Before the brew sets
The taste is much nicer
As sweet as it gets

Some essence of Beauty
Gives just the right touch
Three drops of Desire
ReInvent
I killed me

It was quite easy, really
How much strength to lift a knife?
That of a child, but to TAKE a life
Ah, now that's different
But I did it

I spun my brain 'round
Nauseous urchin, on its axis
'Til my heart won the fight
And muttered, "Yes, you're right"
And I was

So I followed me
Down, dark, drowning
My own room would suffice
Still, a closet's rather nice
In the blackness, one can't see
The silent gasp of blood
"Yes, this is enough,"
I whispered to the hangers
And the mothballs clogging air
The knife was slippery
I swore - not in English
The time for language was past
"Hurry up!" my heart scre
Martyr
Let the eye remember
I saw against my will
Let his lashes tremble
But my heart is silent still
Let him weep a river
A river washes sin
Sons of man, forgive me
My heart has given in

Let the tongue conceal me
Wagging fast and thick
Let her body change me
Words to make you sick
Selfish in my sorrow
Tarnished in my pain
Licking up the swollen sky
To rid it of the stain

Let this face obey me
Let her look at ease
Kindly lead me forward
In search of others' dreams
Bend my mouth in answer
To crimes they all forgot  
Lift it up to smile
At the battles daily fought

Let the mind remember
(Lest you all forget
